Ecowar release their 5th recording in a career that has spanned 20 years. Still sounding fresh, this underground anarcho punk release displays the band morphing into a tight 3 piece with a more mature and varied sound. From Dub to Garage to tastes of Metal and Hardcore, this creative band continues to develop their sound.
Recorded mainly live in studio during the Catalan referedum vote weekend when violence from riot police against citizens attempting to vote was outraging the world.
This EP explores themes of ecological activism, with 2 songs about the major environmental NGOs of Sea Shepherd and International Anti Poaching Foundation. Other themes include celebrating alternative lifestyles in the the country side and living with mental health problems.
Cover art by Antognoni Brunhoso, legendary African/European painter.
The EP takes its name from the Patagonian Toothfish which is a species under threat from illegal overfishing.The opening track 110 days, celebrates the famous Sea Shepherd chase of an illegal fishing vessel which resulted in the vessel being sunk by its Captain to hide the evidence.
Ecowar are best known as a high energy live act and the live recording techniques of this EP show an authentic sound of the band.
